On Rogers Sportsnet’s “Hockey Central” Sunday, hockey analyst and insider Nick Kypreos, stated that Washington Capital’s Head Coach Bruce Boudreau could be relieved of his coaching duties sooner rather than later with former Center, and line-mate, Dale Hunter being a possible replacement within the next 24-48 hours.
“A lot of speculation something could happen in the next 24-48 hours,” Kypreos stated. “The name being thrown out there is ex-Washington Capital, a centerman of mine, Dale Hunter.”
Bruce Boudreau has been under a lot of heat the last couple of years. In 4 seasons coaching the Capitals, Boudreau has led the Capitals to the Southeast division title each year but has failed to lead the Capitals past the second round of the playoffs. Boudreau is also being criticized for Alex Ovechkin’s decreased ice-time average and bad play the last year and a half.
The big problem/question with Dale Hunter is “would he leave his junior team in London” half-way through the season to come to Washington and coach a Capitals team that has failed to live up to their high expectations the last 3 years? We will have to wait and see…
You decide: Would firing Bruce Boudreau be the right decision on behalf of the Capitals?
Would bringing in Dale Hunter help solve the Capitals post-season struggles?
Would Dale Hunter leave his team in London to come and coach the Capitals?
