The San Francisco Bulls acquired forward Jesse Todd from the Reading Royals in exchange for Evan Barlow. Chris Lawrence was also traded to the Orlando Solar Bears for future considerations.
Last season, Todd completed his senior season at Merrimack College, where he led the Warriors with 12 goals and added 15 assists for 27 points in 36 games for a Merrimack team that, for the first time in school history, was ranked nationally all season long and was the number one team in the country for two weeks in November. At the end of the College season, Todd joined the Hamilton Bulldogs of the AHL, where he assisted on three goals in five games.
He started his career with the BCHL team Salmon Arm Silverbacks in 2003. After two seasons, he started at Cornell University of the NCAA. In 2009, he signed for the ECHL team Idaho Steelheads, with a brief stay in the AHL for the Abbotsford Heat. Barlow split last season with the Springfield Falcons of the AHL, scoring 30 points, and the Elmira Jackals of the ECHL, registering over a point per game with 19 points in 13 games.
Lawarence was selected by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 3rd round (89th overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. Last season, Lawarence split time with the Houston Aeros and Worchester Sharks of the AHL, as well as the Stockton Thunder of the ECHL where he had over a point per game, with 54 points in 52 games.
