The Boston Bruins have acquired St. Louis Blues defensemen Wade Redden for a 7th round draft pick in 2014.

After trading for Jay Bouwmeester and Jordan Leopold, the Blues had a log jam of NHL-ready defensemen and were willing to part with one of them for the right price; a conditional pick was enough for Redden.

While he hasn’t been stellar, Redden can be a serviceable defensemen and the Bruins are hoping for just that. He can be paired on almost any defense-pairing, but early suggestions are that he may get a chance to rejoin his former partner Zdeno Chara.

Hello hockey fans; my name is Bill Sunshine. I am currently working to obtain my B.A. and Journalism Certificate as a student of the University at Buffalo. I first started writing hockey stories after repeated attempts to educate my friends about the ins and outs of hockey, only to read those same ideas I shared with them in newspapers.
