Aucoin played last year with the New York Islanders and posted six goals and six assists in 41 games last season. This has to be a depth signing and Aucoin will be spending most of the season in the American Hockey League.

Aucoin isn’t an upgrade on any of the Blues centers and he’s likely not going to make the Blues roster. That said, however, it’s unknown if he’s signing a one or two way contract. If it’s a one way deal and Aucoin doesn’t make the roster, he’ll be paid his NHL salary in the AHLO. Only time will tell if this is expected to be a signing for the AHL or the NHL roster.
