St. Louis Blues Defenseman Ian Cole has been suspended for 3 games by the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety for delivering an illegal head hit to Detroit Red Wings Forward Justin Abdelkader.

 

The fact that there was no injury on the play along with the fact that Cole has no history of fines or suspensions confuses some people. Nonetheless, Cole will forfeit a total of $21,081.09K in those 3 games.

 

In his second NHL season, Ian Cole has suited up for only 13 games registering 4 points (1 Goal, 3 Assists) to go along with an impressive +6 rating in the plus/minus category.
