Team(s) Interested: Ottawa Senators- The season just started 2 weeks ago, but it looks as though there will be frequent rumors linking the Ottawa Senators captain Daniel Alfredsson in possible trades. The 38 year old has a $4.9 million cap hit for the next 2 seasons and this current deal could be his last. He has never won the Stanley Cup during his career (the farthest the Sens went with Alfie was the Cup final in 2007). The longtime Senators captain has been a fan favorite for years, but it may be time to end the relationship. A possible situation could be that Alfredsson, who doesn’t have a NTC, could request to be traded to a Cup contender, like Pittsburgh, just like Ray Bourque did about 10 years ago. A trade that could work well for both teams is Alfie and Sergei Gonchar for Paul Martin and James Neal or a 3rd round draft pick.
