The Phoenix Coyotes’ busy day continued, as they re-signed defenseman Chris Summers to a one-year contract. Financial terms of the deal have not yet been disclosed.

Summers was a first-round pick of the Coyotes back in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, 29th overall. However, despite being a first rounder seven years ago, the left-handed shooting native of Ann Arbor, Michigan has played in just 29 NHL games for Phoenix, posting just three assists to go along with a minus-10 rating and 24 penalty minutes. This past season, Summers played in just six games for the Coyotes, posting a minus-3 rating and nine penalty minutes. Summers turned 25 years old back in February.
