When Jeff Carter was sent to the Columbus Blue Jackets, the Flyers received Jakub Voracek and something they haven’t had in awhile, a good pick in the first round. Many wondered in the days preceding the draft what this rarity would be used for. Their questions were all answered when Sean Couturier was announced the Flyers draft choice.

Couturier has impressed the fans and more importantly Peter Laviolette. He is getting a good amount of ice time on the third line playing with Matt Read and Scott Hartnell. He also seems to be a regular on penalty kill 1 with Max Talbot. I recall hearing that the rookie would be given a ten day tryout sort of thing before his fate would be decided. Right now, I cannot see him being sent down. His intensity is there, and he seems to be handling the adjustment to the NHL quite well. I don’t see him going anywhere right now except back on the ice every time the Flyers are in the box.

Just a short little article for some entertainment. The Flyers take on the Senators tomorrow night, so expect a game review sometime Wednesday. Follow me on twitter @AndrewFlyersGuy
