Hey guys, at the Calgary airport right now, but just want to make a quick post before I get on the airplane. The NHL kicks off its regular season today with three games. The Flyers will be in Boston facing the defending Stanley Cup Champions, the Canadians will be in Toronto facing a team who is determined to end their playoff drought, and the Penguins will be in Vancouver facing the team who lost against Boston in game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals.

My pick, Flyers/Bruins: Bruins over Flyers 3-1 – The Bruins will begin the 2011/12 season strong as they look to become the first team to win the Stanley Cup in back to back seasons since the Red Wings did it in the 1996/97, and 1997/98 seasons.

My pick, Canadians/Leafs: Canadians over Leafs 4-2 – Carey Price will carry the Canadians to the playoffs once again this year, he is the cornerstone of the franchise and will have another winning season.

My pick, Penguins/Canucks: Canucks over Penguins 3-2
– Although the Canucks will be without star Forward, Ryan Kesler and Forward Mason Raymond for the first month of the season, the Canucks will still be a very good, talented team.
