Yesterday, my predictions didn’t go so well as I didn’t get any right. Today, there are 6 games in the NHL, and I am determined to end that losing streak. The Ducks will be playing Buffalo, the over rated NHL club. The Rangers will be playing against the very new, improved Kings team, Carolina will be playing against the Lightning, the team who hopes Dwayne Roloson can carry them to the finals. The Red Wings will be versing the very young, rebuilding Senators team, the Predators will playing against the Blue Jackets who hope Jeff Carter and James Wisniewski can help them into the playoffs while Rick Nash continues to light it up. Lastly, the Blackhawks will be playing the Stars, a team who doesn’t really look to be going anywhere.
Ducks/Sabres: Ducks over Sabres 3-2 – The Ducks will be able to overtake the over rated Sabres. Jonas Hiller will shut the door for the team.
Rangers/Kings: Kings over Rangers 4-2 – The Kings are the “team to beat” in the entire league. They made huge off-season acquisitions in Mike Richards and Simon Gagne. The Rangers might have added the big free agent of the summer in Brad Richards, but that won’t be enough to overcome the Kings.
Hurricanes/Lightning: Lightning over Hurricanes 4-1 – The Lightning could be a contending team this year if Dwayne Roloson can play solid. The Lightning will prove that by winning their season opener against the Hurricanes.
Senators/Wings: Wings over Senators 5-2 – Although they lost three important players in Brian Rafalski, Kris Draper, and Chris Osgood due to retirement, the Red Wings will start the season off strong.
Predators/Jackets: Jackets over Predators 3-2 – The Blue Jackets may be without James Wisniewski to start the season because of a suspension, but Jeff Carter and Rick Nash will be able to help the Jackets win their season opener.
Blackhawks/Stars: Blackhawks over Stars 5-1 – This is an easy decision, the Stars are not a great team, and they only got worse when they lost Brad Richards. The Blackhawks on the other hand, have an amazing team who only got better in the off-season. The Blackhawks will be able to bulldoze over the Stars to open their season.
