Yesterday, 14 teams played their first games of the season, including Anaheim, Buffalo, LA, and the Rangers overseas.

 

In terms of transactions, the league was pretty quiet yesterday.

 

The Minnesota Wild Assigned center Eric Nystrom to Houston (AHL).

The Montreal Canadiens Signed defenseman Joe Callahan to a one-year, two-way contract.
