Nothing Major Happened In the NHL Yesterday, but their was still some movement around the league. Here is what happened:

 

Boston Bruins Assigned forwards Lane MacDermid and Max Sauve to Providence (AHL).

Carolina Hurricanes Assigned forward Drayson Bowman to Charlotte (AHL).

Chicago Blackhawks Recalled forwards Jimmy Hayes and Peter LeBlanc from Rockford (AHL).

Dallas Stars Assigned forwards Eric Godard, Travis Morin, Ray Sawada, Colton Sceviour and Francis Wathier, defenseman Maxime Fortunus, and goaltender Richard Bachman to Texas (AHL).

Detroit Red Wings Recalled forward Brent Raedeke from Grand Rapids (AHL); assigned defensemen Brian Lashoff and Brendan Smith, goaltender Jordan Pearce and forwards Landon Ferraro and Joakim Andersson to Grand Rapids.

Edmonton Oilers Waived forwards Gilbert Brule, Ryan Keller and Ryan O’Marra, and Josh Green for the purpose of assigning them to Oklahoma City (AHL); assigned forward Teemu Hartikainen to Oklahoma City.

Nashville Predators Assigned forwards Gabriel Bourque and Chris Mueller, and defenseman Tyler Sloan to Milwaukee (AHL); placed defenseman Roman Josi on the injured reserve list; assigned defenseman Garrett Suter to Cincinnati (ECHL); released forward Aaron Marvin from his professional try-out; returned forward Josh Shalla to his junior team.

New York Islanders Assigned forwards Michael Haley, Sean Backman, Casey Cizikas, Justin DiBenedetto, Brett Gallant, Tomas Marcinko, Tyler McNeely, Tony Romano, David Ullstrom, Tim Wallace, defensemen Calvin de Haan, Matt Donovan, Anton Klementyev, Aaron Ness, Benn Olson, and goaltenders Mikko Koskinen, Anders Nilsson and Kevin Poulin to Bridgeport (AHL).

Winnipeg Jets Released forward Janne Pesonen; assigned defenseman Paul Postma and forward Jason Gregoire to St. John’s (AHL).

Steven took a different route towards his hockey interests. Starting out as a big Habs fan, he started to gravitate towards the more obscure levels of hockey, such as the low level tournaments in Asia, strange club matches between teams most people in North America can’t pronounce, and even some 3am contests between Bulgaria and New Zealand. Aside from his love for strange hockey events, Steven occasionally acts as a mediocre ball hockey goalie following a failed attempt at making it to the NHL as a fourth line house league grinder. Beyond hockey, Steven is an avid racing fan and loves to chat about NASCAR, F1, Indycar, you name it. Oh, and don’t get him started on music. That is, unless you want the whole history of metal and a guitar lesson. Currently, Steven is a credentialed media member with the Mississauga Steelheads of the OHL, as well as with the Oakville Blades of the OJHL.
