The New York Islanders have reportedly acquired Thomas Vanek from the Buffalo Sabres in return for Matt Moulson, a first-round pick in 2014 and a second-rounder in 2015.
Acting as Buffalo’s co-captain this season, Vanek managed to pot four goals and five assists in 13 games this season to go along with 597 total points in 598 career games. Moulson, on the other hand, has 233 career points in 334 contests, with nine of the points coming this season.
Both players are on expiring contracts, so it will be interesting to see whether Vanek or Moulson actually stick with their new clubs come July.
