Now would be very appropriate time for an injury report, as it is needed badly.
I’ll start first with the bad news, to get it out of the way.
As we all know, Montreal claimed Blair Betts of waivers from the Flyers. I loved this moved, it added size and strength to an otherwise small roster. I couldn’t wait to see him play, but I had to, due to his lower-back injury that kept him from starting the season with the Canadiens. I now may never see him play in a Canadiens jersey. I was told that he failed his physical and now has to report back to Philadelphia.
Now, good news; I reported yesterday that Chris Campoli would be sidelined for 3-4 months. I’ve now heard that he could be out for only 2-3 months. Lars Eller was cleared for contact and should make his debut sometime this week (not tonight). That means Engqvist will go back to Hamilton and Desharnais will probably go back to the 4th line. I hope he doesn’t I thought he played well Thursday, and if we just give him some time, he’ll break through.
Habs are in Winnipeg to play the Jets, puck drop in 4(ish) hours. Post game analysis here!
