20131116-132719.jpgFormer Detroit Red Wings and Winnipeg Jets blue liner Derek Meech has parted company with Dinamo Minsk, following concerns that the Manitoba native’s career may be cut short due to serious circulatory system problems.

Meech averaged more than 21 minutes per game for Minsk, registering 5 assists in 23 games this season.

Drafted 229th overall by Detroit in 2002, he featured in 144 NHL games for the Wings and Jets before moving to the KHL in the summer.
