Adam Greener, currently an assistant coach/player with the Slough Jets, the 2011-2012  English Premier Ice Hockey League champions, was arrested along with two other men, following a drugs raid today by Hampshire Police. All three men have been charged with conspiring to supply cocaine and conspiring to supply amphetamine.

First, a drunk goalie, now this?

The Jets released a statement, saying they were shocked about that Greener would do such a thing.

“At this point in time we have no alternative than to suspend Adam while the police investigation is on-going and a decision and further statement will be made and issued at the conclusion of the police investigation. Our action doesn’t infer any view on the situation and is taken purely as a precaution while the situation is under investigation.”

As well as being the team’s assistant coach, Greener plays defense for the Jets, recording 6 points in 35 games to date this season. The 31 year old defenceman plays a tough, hard hitting style and is never afraid to look out for his teammates, usually racking upwards of 100 PIM a season.

About The Author

Steven took a different route towards his hockey interests. Starting out as a big Habs fan, he started to gravitate towards the more obscure levels of hockey, such as the low level tournaments in Asia, strange club matches between teams most people in North America can’t pronounce, and even some 3am contests between Bulgaria and New Zealand. Aside from his love for strange hockey events, Steven occasionally acts as a mediocre ball hockey goalie following a failed attempt at making it to the NHL as a fourth line house league grinder. Beyond hockey, Steven is an avid racing fan and loves to chat about NASCAR, F1, Indycar, you name it. Oh, and don’t get him started on music. That is, unless you want the whole history of metal and a guitar lesson. Currently, Steven is a credentialed media member with the Mississauga Steelheads of the OHL, as well as with the Oakville Blades of the OJHL. Steven has also hosted the television show "The Hockey House" on TVCogeco in Ontario, as well as a segment under the same with on LeafsTV in Toronto. Home page:
