Oilers’ Ben Eager Facing Assualt Charges After Bar Fight
Reports out of Toronto say Edmonton Oilers forward Ben Eager is facing assault charges in the aftermath of an alleged altercation at the The Quail and Firkin Pub in Toronto.
Eager and his brother Michael were involved in an incident that sent the bar’s doorman to hospital with cuts to the face.
Eager was drafted in the 1st round, 22nd overall by the Phoenix Coyotes in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. He was later traded by the Coyotes along with Sean Burke and Branko Radivojević to the Philadelphia Flyers for centre Mike Comrie, as well as being traded to Chicago, Atlanta and San Jose over the last few seasons. He signed a three-year $3.3 million contract as an Unrestricted Free Agent with the Edmonton Oilers on July 1, 2011, where he had 13 points and 107 PIM in 63 games last year.
