NHL Rumor-Marty Turco

Team(s) Interested: Columbus Blue Jackets- The Blue Jackets are off to not a great start. With only 1 win in 11 games, nothing at all is going right for Columbus. Vinny Prospal (10 Points) and Rick Nash (9 Points) are the only ones actually contributing so far. A big problem for Columbus is their goaltending. Steve Mason has the lone win for the franchise, but he is inconsistent and can’t be relied on to save the team.  The only goaltender that could challenge Mason for playing time, Mark Dekanich, is recovering from an ankle injury. Curtis Sanford had been filling in as the Blue Jackets backup goaltender, but he’s also out with a groin injury. Eric Francis of CBC reports UFA goalie Marty Turco is still working out and would be willing to play as a backup, and that Columbus could bring him in.Turco, who most recently played with the Chicago Blackhawks, would be brought in to help mentor the struggling Mason, and hopefully win some games in the process.
