Team(s) Interested: Carolina Hurricanes- During Tuesday night’s “Insider Trading” segment on TSN, it was reported that the Hurricanes may be willing to move a defenseman in order to obtain an offensive forward. This comes after it was announced that Jussi Jokinen would be out for almost a month. The Hurricanes have only managed five wins in their first 12 games, and rank 12th in the NHL in goals-for per game, with a 2.67. That’s better then half the league, but they are not getting enough to be a .500 team. One name that has been rumored to be sent packing is Joni Pitkanen. The D-man has tremendous size and strength, and is a big-minute defenseman with all-around ability. No talk about who could come back.
