Milan Lucic has a 1 p.m. meeting with NHL disciplinarian Brendan Shanahan today after colliding with Ryan Miller on Saturday. The incident, which saw the Bruins winger slam into Miller, left the Sabres goalie with a concussion, leaving him out indefintetly.

Personally, I don’t think Lucic should get suspended. As you can see in this video, Miller was out playing the puck at the right faceoff dot. There is no rule preventing him from doing that, but clearly it was a bad desicison on his part. Goalies who go out to play the puck outside their crease should know the consequences, as they can easily get hit, just like in this case. I play goalie myself, and I believe if the goalie is playing where the defense usually are, they should be treated as one. Some say that Lucic should be suspended just because Miller got injured. Thats stupid.

Miller wasn’t impressed.

“I just stuck around because I wanted to say what a piece of (s—) I think Lucic is,” said Miller. “Fifty pounds on me, and he runs me like that? It’s unbelievable. Everyone in this city see him as a big, tough, solid player. I respected him for how hard he plays. That was gutless. Gutless. Piece of (S—).”

The next time the two teams meet will be on Novemeber 23rd. It will be interesting to see what retribution the Sabres take this time around, as many people thought they didn’t do enough payback. Maybe they were scared of Chara?

Steven took a different route towards his hockey interests. Starting out as a big Habs fan, he started to gravitate towards the more obscure levels of hockey, such as the low level tournaments in Asia, strange club matches between teams most people in North America can’t pronounce, and even some 3am contests between Bulgaria and New Zealand. Aside from his love for strange hockey events, Steven occasionally acts as a mediocre ball hockey goalie following a failed attempt at making it to the NHL as a fourth line house league grinder. Beyond hockey, Steven is an avid racing fan and loves to chat about NASCAR, F1, Indycar, you name it. Oh, and don’t get him started on music. That is, unless you want the whole history of metal and a guitar lesson.
